The prospect of living in Zimbabwe is somewhat of a gamble at the current time, so you could imagine that there would be little appetite for going to Zimbabwe’s gambling dens. In fact, it seems to be operating the other way around, with the critical market conditions leading to a larger eagerness to wager, to attempt to locate a fast win, a way from the crisis.
For almost all of the people surviving on the tiny local money, there are 2 established styles of gambling, the state lottery and Zimbet. As with most everywhere else in the world, there is a state lotto where the odds of profiting are extremely low, but then the jackpots are also very high. It’s been said by market analysts who look at the idea that most don’t purchase a ticket with an actual assumption of hitting. Zimbabwe’s gambling halls, on the other foot, pamper the exceedingly rich of the state and sightseers. Up until recently, there was a considerably large vacationing business, based on nature trips and visits to Victoria Falls. The economic anxiety and connected violence have cut into this market.

In addition to Zimbabwe’s casinos and the above alluded to lottery and Zimbet (which is considerably like a pools system), there is a total of 2 horse racing tracks in the country: the Matabeleland Turf Club in Bulawayo (the 2nd city) and the Borrowdale Park in Harare.
Seeing as that the market has deflated by more than 40% in the past few years and with the associated deprivation and violence that has resulted, it isn’t understood how well the tourist business which is the foundation for Zimbabwe’s gambling dens will do in the next few years. How many of them will carry through until conditions get better is merely not known.
